Packaging segments we support
Flexible packaging — blown film, cast film, lamination for food, retail and industrial. White and black for back-of-pack opacity, color for brand identity, slip/anti-block to control coefficient of friction on packaging lines.
Rigid packaging — injection-molded closures, tubs, pails and crates in HDPE and PP. Color masterbatches with high dispersion for thin-wall molding; UV stabilizers for outdoor-stored product.
Bottle blow molding — HDPE dairy and HDPE/PET household chemical bottles. White masterbatch with optimized TiO2 dispersion to achieve target opacity at the lowest LDR.
Thermoforming — PP and PET sheet for trays, lids and cups. CaCO3 filler masterbatches to reduce sheet cost and improve stiffness at thin gauges.
Regulatory framework that matters in Canada
Canadian packaging converters supplying food-contact applications must meet both Health Canada Food and Drug Regulations and (for export to the US) FDA 21 CFR 178.3297 for colorants. Our food-grade white and color masterbatches carry both certifications, and we maintain change-control documentation so a converter's quality department can trace any pigment lot back to its primary manufacturer.
For recyclable mono-material packaging — increasingly required under provincial Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regimes — we recommend our PE-carrier masterbatch series rather than universal PP carriers. PE-carrier formulations integrate cleanly into PE recycling streams without contaminating the recyclate.
Cost-engineering for Canadian packaging margins
Canadian packaging converters operate on thin margins compressed by resin price volatility and EPR fees. Two levers move the needle: optimized TiO2 loading in white masterbatch (we typically save converters 0.5–1.5 percentage points of LDR by switching from a generic 50 % white to our optimized 75 % grade) and partial CaCO3 substitution in non-clarity layers of multilayer film (5–25 % CaCO3 in the core layer can cut resin cost by 8–18 %).
