Coated vs uncoated calcium carbonate — which one for your line?
Uncoated CaCO3 is the lowest cost per kilogram but tends to absorb moisture and lower MFI. Stearic-acid-coated grades cost roughly 8–12% more but disperse cleanly in PE and PP at letdown ratios above 30%, protect screw barrels from build-up and reduce die-lip drool on blown-film lines. For Canadian converters running winter-grade resin with high stiffness requirements, coated GCC at D50 1.5 µm is the standard recommendation.
