Polyester staple fiber is polyester extruded into continuous filament, drawn, crimped and then cut to a defined length so that it can be opened, blended, carded, filled or bonded. It is a raw material rather than a finished article: manufacturers convert it into filling, wadding, nonwoven webs, padding and textile products.
