Needlepunch Polyester Nonwoven Fabric — Mechanically Bonded PET Felt

Allzone Trading supplies needlepunch polyester nonwoven fabric to converters and manufacturers in Ontario, Quebec and across Canada. Polyester staple is carded and mechanically needled into a felt that holds dimension under load and at higher continuous temperature than polypropylene. Basis weight, width, finish and colour are specified against the application and confirmed against supplier technical data at quotation.

Technical & procurement detail

What needlepunch polyester is+

Polyester staple fibres are carded into a web and mechanically entangled by barbed needles. The bond is physical, so the felt keeps loft and permeability, and the polymer gives it better dimensional stability under sustained load and heat than a polypropylene felt of the same weight.

Finish options+

As-needled, calendared and infrared-bonded finishes are available. Calendering compresses and smooths a face; infrared bonding stabilises the surface. Both reduce thickness and surface fibre release and change how the roll behaves in lamination, coating and cutting.

Where it is used+

Automotive converters use it in interior, trunk and acoustic layers where heat and load are ordinary service conditions. Filtration users specify it as depth filter media and as support behind a finer layer. Roofing and membrane producers use it as a carrier or protective layer. Furniture and bedding manufacturers use it for padding and construction layers, and industrial users for protective and cushioning felt.

How specifications vary+

Basis weight, thickness, density, fibre denier, tensile and elongation, thermal behaviour, colour and roll dimensions vary with the manufacturing specification. Filtration and acoustic performance depend on the complete assembly and must not be inferred from the felt alone.

What to include in your enquiry+

Send the basis weight, roll width, roll length and quantity, together with the application. Where relevant, state the service temperature, any load or elongation requirement, the finish you need, and whether the material will be laminated, moulded, coated or cut.

Documentation and specification+

Allzone confirms basis weight, finish and composition with the supplier before quoting and shares the technical data for the exact material offered. No approval, flammability rating or certification is assumed on this page.

Frequently asked questions

What is needlepunch polyester nonwoven used for?+

Automotive interior and acoustic layers, filter media and filter support, roofing and membrane carriers, furniture and bedding padding, and industrial protective felt.

Polyester or polypropylene needlefelt?+

Polyester holds dimension better under heat and sustained load; polypropylene is lighter and more chemically resistant in wet service. The choice follows the service condition.

Is a flammability or acoustic rating available?+

Only where supplier documentation supports it for the exact material. No rating is claimed on this page.

Which basis weight should I order?+

Basis weight follows from the duty and the converting process. Share the application and a suitable range is confirmed with technical data.

What quantities are quoted?+

Quantities are reviewed per enquiry, from trial rolls through to full production programmes.
