Functional role of process oil+

In a compound, process oil softens the polymer matrix so mixing energy drops, filler disperses evenly and the finished part reaches its target hardness at lower cost. In hot-melt and TPE systems the same oil controls melt viscosity and open time.

Selecting the right grade+

Oil type — paraffinic, naphthenic or white oil — determines compatibility, colour and low-temperature behaviour, and viscosity, aniline point and volatility follow. Polymer type, colour requirement, service temperature and any regulatory constraint determine what is quoted.

Documentation and specification+

Properties differ between producers and between grades of the same material. Allzone confirms the applicable grade with the supplier before quoting and shares the technical data sheet and safety data sheet for the exact material offered, so the values you evaluate are the values you receive.

Frequently asked questions

Which oil type suits my polymer?+

Compatibility follows the polymer's polarity and the colour and regulatory requirements of the part. Share the polymer, target hardness and any colour or contact requirement and the correct oil type is confirmed with the supplier.

Which grade will I be quoted?+

The grade is set by your specification. Share the target performance, process conditions and any customer or regulatory requirement in the RFQ and the matching grade is confirmed with the supplier before quotation.

What packaging is available?+

Packaging is confirmed with the supplier at quotation for the grade and quantity discussed.

Can you deliver across Ontario and Quebec?+

Yes. LTL and FTL freight is arranged across Ontario, Quebec and Western Canada, with container-direct supply for repeat volumes.
