Polyurethane Dispersion (PUD) — Waterborne Polyurethane
Polyurethane dispersions deliver polyurethane film performance from a water-based product, without the solvent load of a conventional two-component system. Allzone supplies PUD to Canadian coatings, adhesive and textile manufacturers with the grade confirmed against supplier documentation.

Technical & procurement detail
Functional role of polyurethane dispersion (pud)+
A PUD carries pre-formed polyurethane polymer as discrete particles in water. On drying, those particles coalesce into a tough, flexible, abrasion and chemical resistant film — the reason low-VOC wood finishes, flexible packaging laminating adhesives and leather and textile coatings have moved to this chemistry.
Selecting the right grade+
Polyester, polyether and polycarbonate backbones give different hydrolysis, UV and chemical resistance profiles; aliphatic grades resist yellowing where aromatic grades do not. Whether the system is one-component or crosslinked with an isocyanate or carbodiimide also defines the grade.
Documentation and specification+
Properties differ between producers and between grades of the same material. Allzone confirms the applicable grade with the supplier before quoting and shares the technical data sheet and safety data sheet for the exact material offered, so the values you evaluate are the values you receive.
Frequently asked questions
Are aliphatic and aromatic PUDs interchangeable?+
No. Aromatic grades yellow under UV and suit interior or pigmented use; aliphatic grades hold clarity and colour outdoors at higher cost. State the exposure and appearance requirement in the RFQ.
Which grade will I be quoted?+
The grade is set by your specification. Share the target performance, process conditions and any customer or regulatory requirement in the RFQ and the matching grade is confirmed with the supplier before quotation.
What packaging is available?+
Packaging is confirmed with the supplier at quotation for the grade and quantity discussed.
Can you deliver across Ontario and Quebec?+
Yes. LTL and FTL freight is arranged across Ontario, Quebec and Western Canada, with container-direct supply for repeat volumes.
