Functional role of flow & leveling agent+

Surface defects in a drying film are driven by surface tension gradients. A levelling agent equalises those gradients so material flows from ridges into valleys during the open time available, and in doing so also reduces cratering and improves slip on the cured surface.

Selecting the right grade+

Polyacrylate levelling agents are typical where recoatability must be preserved; modified polysiloxanes give stronger surface tension reduction and added slip but need care in multi-coat systems. Cure schedule, film build and whether the coating is liquid or powder decide the chemistry.

Documentation and specification+

Properties differ between producers and between grades of the same material. Allzone confirms the applicable grade with the supplier before quoting and shares the technical data sheet and safety data sheet for the exact material offered, so the values you evaluate are the values you receive.

Frequently asked questions

Will a levelling agent affect recoat adhesion?+

Strongly surface-active silicone grades can, which is why acrylate grades are common in multi-coat systems. State whether the film will be recoated and the supplier will confirm a compatible grade.

Which grade will I be quoted?+

The grade is set by your specification. Share the target performance, process conditions and any customer or regulatory requirement in the RFQ and the matching grade is confirmed with the supplier before quotation.

What packaging is available?+

Packaging is confirmed with the supplier at quotation for the grade and quantity discussed.

Can you deliver across Ontario and Quebec?+

Yes. LTL and FTL freight is arranged across Ontario, Quebec and Western Canada, with container-direct supply for repeat volumes.
