Why spray-up outperforms premix+
Chopping at the gun deposits longer fibres in a more favourable orientation than a premixed mortar can carry, so spray-up panels generally develop higher flexural strength at a given fibre content. That is why large architectural cladding programmes specify spray GFRC while smaller and more intricate work often stays with premix.
Roving must match the chopper+
Roving is engineered to feed, chop and disperse cleanly in specific equipment. The wrong package or the wrong sizing produces fuzzing, wrapping, inconsistent chop length and gun stoppages. Confirm the chopper type and feed arrangement when enquiring so a compatible roving is quoted.
Deposition and compaction+
Panel quality depends on even deposition and thorough roller compaction of each layer; unrolled areas trap air and lose strength. Thickness is monitored during spraying rather than checked afterwards, because a thin zone in a cladding panel is a structural defect that cannot be corrected later.
