Aluminum Trihydrate (ATH) — Halogen-Free Flame-Retardant Filler — product overview

AllZone-ATH500 is ultra-pure aluminium trihydrate (ATH) used as a non-halogenated mineral flame retardant and smoke suppressant. Its mechanism is endothermic dehydration — under fire exposure the ATH releases bound water, cooling the polymer and diluting combustion gases. That mechanism drives the two commercial reasons converters select ATH over halogenated systems: no halogenated by-products in smoke, and effective smoke suppression in confined-space applications (LSZH cable, transit interiors, building materials). Achievable UL rating and mechanical trade-off depend on the loading level (ATH loadings are typically high) and the coupling and processing package used with it; formulation validation is recommended.
