Ultramarine Blue Pigment — Clean Blue Colouration
Allzone Trading supplies ultramarine blue pigment to coatings formulators, cast polymer producers, plastics compounders, art material manufacturers and decorative product plants across Canada. Ultramarine gives a clean, bright blue with a reddish undertone that iron oxide chemistry cannot approach. Shade, particle size and acid sensitivity are confirmed against supplier technical data at quotation.

Technical & procurement detail
The blue that does not go grey+
Blending white with a weak blue produces a chalky, greyish result. Ultramarine keeps its chroma at low loadings, which is why it stays in use in coatings, plastics and art materials even where cheaper blues exist.
Acid sensitivity is the limitation+
Ultramarine decomposes in acidic conditions, releasing colour and odour. Formulators keep it out of acidic systems and out of products exposed to acid cleaning, choosing a different chemistry instead of trying to protect it.
Use in cementitious work+
It is alkali tolerant enough for some cementitious use, but exterior concrete blues remain difficult and are approved on weathered sample units rather than assumed. Interior and cast polymer applications are the more common commercial home for this pigment.
Specification options+
Working properties are configurable options within this canonical product, not separate products. Depending on the family, that can include grade, viscosity, mix ratio, pot life and demould time, hardness, colour, particle size or fibre length, and pack format. No configuration is presented as stocked or approved until it is confirmed against the supplier's technical data for the exact material offered. Supplier grade names, factory codes and manufacturer brands are not published here.
What to include in your enquiry+
Tell us the system being coloured, target shade, whether any acidic exposure is expected, annual volume and delivery location.
Frequently asked questions
Is ultramarine suitable for exterior concrete?+
It is used in some cementitious products, but exterior durability must be validated on sample units for the specific system rather than assumed.
Are different shades available?+
Shade and particle size are specification options within this canonical product and are confirmed against supplier technical data.
Are technical documents provided before ordering?+
Yes. The supplier technical data sheet and safety data sheet for the exact grade offered are provided with the quotation, and the working properties in those documents govern — not any general description on this page.
What quantities are quoted?+
Quantities are reviewed per enquiry, from trial quantities through to pallet and full container programmes for production users and distributors.
