Why iron oxide and not organic pigment+
Cementitious systems are strongly alkaline and exterior units face years of ultraviolet exposure. Most organic pigments fade or fail chemically in that environment, while iron oxides hold their colour, which is why virtually all commercial concrete colour is built on them.
Dosage is calculated on cement, not on total mix+
Pigment colours the paste, so the effective loading is the ratio to cementitious content. Above a certain loading, additional pigment stops darkening the unit and starts consuming water demand and strength, so producers establish the practical ceiling by trial rather than by adding more.
Colour repeatability is a process discipline+
Water content, cement colour, curing conditions, aggregate and finishing all shift the final shade at constant pigment dose. Plants that hold colour across a facade programme lock the source, weigh accurately, and approve against retained reference units instead of a colour card.
Powder, granule or dispersion+
Powder is the most economical and most difficult to handle cleanly; granular pigment dusts far less and disperses well in modern mixers; liquid dispersion suits automated dosing. The form is a plant handling decision that does not change the pigment chemistry.

Depending on the family, that can include grade, viscosity, mix ratio, pot life and demould time, hardness, colour, particle size or fibre length, and pack format. Frequently asked questions
Can colour be matched to an existing product?+
Matching is done from physical sample castings produced under your own mix and curing conditions, since the same pigment gives different results in different processes.
Does pigment reduce strength?+
At normal loadings the effect is small, but very high loadings increase water demand and can reduce strength, which is one reason a practical dosage ceiling is established by trial.
Are technical documents provided before ordering?+
