Strontium Aluminate Photoluminescent Pigment — Glow Pigment for Resin and Concrete
Allzone Trading supplies strontium aluminate photoluminescent pigment to resin casting studios, decorative concrete producers, safety product manufacturers and coatings formulators across Canada. Modern strontium aluminate pigment charges under ordinary light and emits for hours, which makes it usable in real products rather than novelty items. Particle size, emission colour and system compatibility are confirmed against supplier technical data at quotation.

Technical & procurement detail
Strontium aluminate replaced zinc sulfide for a reason+
Older zinc sulfide glow pigments faded within minutes and degraded quickly. Strontium aluminate is far brighter and emits for hours, which is what allows it to be specified in safety and architectural products rather than toys.
Particle size versus brightness+
Larger particles glow brighter and longer, but they also settle and can be visible as discrete grains in a clear casting. Fine grades disperse smoothly and glow less, so the trade-off is decided by whether the piece is viewed lit or dark.
Water and alkali sensitivity+
Uncoated strontium aluminate reacts with water and degrades in alkaline cementitious systems. Coated, encapsulated grades exist for concrete and waterborne use, and using an uncoated grade in a wet system is the most common cause of a product that stops glowing.
Specification options+
Working properties are configurable options within this canonical product, not separate products. Depending on the family, that can include grade, viscosity, mix ratio, pot life and demould time, hardness, colour, particle size or fibre length, and pack format. No configuration is presented as stocked or approved until it is confirmed against the supplier's technical data for the exact material offered. Supplier grade names, factory codes and manufacturer brands are not published here.
What to include in your enquiry+
Tell us the carrier system, whether cementitious or resin, emission colour, particle size preference, volume and delivery location.
Frequently asked questions
Can glow pigment be used directly in concrete?+
Only coated grades intended for alkaline and wet systems should be considered, and performance is validated on sample units before production.
How long does the glow last?+
Emission duration depends on grade, loading, charging light and particle size, and comes from the supplier's technical data rather than a general claim.
Are technical documents provided before ordering?+
Yes. The supplier technical data sheet and safety data sheet for the exact grade offered are provided with the quotation, and the working properties in those documents govern — not any general description on this page.
What quantities are quoted?+
Quantities are reviewed per enquiry, from trial quantities through to pallet and full container programmes for production users and distributors.
