Expanded Perlite — Lightweight Insulating Aggregate
Allzone Trading supplies expanded perlite to plaster and mortar formulators, lightweight product manufacturers and building product plants across Canada. Perlite is used where low density and thermal or fire performance matter more than compressive strength, and it is a long-established filler in gypsum and cementitious lightweight systems. Grade, bulk density and particle size are confirmed against supplier technical data at quotation.

Technical & procurement detail
Density and fire behaviour together+
Perlite is inorganic and non-combustible, so it lowers weight without introducing an organic fuel load. That combination is why it survives in fire-rated building products where polymer beads would not be accepted.
Water demand and absorption+
Perlite is porous and absorbs mix water, which changes workability and set behaviour. Formulators either pre-wet the aggregate or correct the water content, and treat the choice as part of the formulation rather than a site adjustment.
Handling fragile granules+
Over-mixing crushes the granules and quietly removes the density benefit that was paid for. Established plants add perlite late in the mixing cycle and keep mixing energy low.
Specification options+
Working properties are configurable options within this canonical product, not separate products. Depending on the family, that can include grade, viscosity, mix ratio, pot life and demould time, hardness, colour, particle size or fibre length, and pack format. No configuration is presented as stocked or approved until it is confirmed against the supplier's technical data for the exact material offered. Supplier grade names, factory codes and manufacturer brands are not published here.

Frequently asked questions
Which grade should be selected?+
Grade and particle size are specification options within this canonical product and are confirmed against supplier technical data for the material offered.
Can perlite be used in structural castings?+
It reduces strength as it reduces density, so structural use is decided by mix trial against the actual load requirement.
Are technical documents provided before ordering?+
Yes. The supplier technical data sheet and safety data sheet for the exact grade offered are provided with the quotation, and the working properties in those documents govern — not any general description on this page.
What quantities are quoted?+
Quantities are reviewed per enquiry, from trial quantities through to pallet and full container programmes for production users and distributors.
