Sodium Hydrosulfide
Sodium Hydrosulfide (NaHS) is the alkali salt of hydrogen sulphide, traded both as a solid flake and as an aqueous solution. It is bought for one behaviour: it supplies sulphide ions in a controllable way. In mineral processing that sulphide restores or modifies mineral surfaces so flotation can proceed — sulphidising oxidised copper minerals, or depressing copper in copper–molybdenum separation. In effluent treatment the same chemistry precipitates dissolved heavy metals as insoluble sulphides. Allzone quotes this material per enquiry: grade, packing, origin, documentation and Incoterm are decided in your quotation, not fixed by this page.

Technical & procurement detail
What sodium hydrosulfide does in a process+
It supplies sulphide ions into an alkaline system. In flotation that means sulphidising oxidised mineral surfaces so collectors can adsorb, or depressing copper sulphides so molybdenite floats away from them. In effluent treatment it precipitates dissolved metals as low-solubility sulphides. In tanning it is used in the unhairing stage of hide preparation. Dosage and control are process decisions established on your own system.
What decides the grade you actually need+
Presentation comes first, because flake and solution suit completely different intake, storage and dosing arrangements and carry different handling requirements. Then the duty — sulphidising, depression, precipitation or unhairing — together with the active content convention your process control uses and your site documentation requirements decide the material quoted. This reagent releases hydrogen sulphide gas on contact with acid and is handled strictly to its safety data sheet.
Sodium hydrosulfide and adjacent sulphur chemistries+
Sodium hydrogen sulphide, sodium bisulphide and NaHS are alternative names for this same material, not separate products. It is distinct from sodium sulphide, which is a different salt with different handling and stoichiometry, and from sodium hydrosulphite (sodium dithionite), a reducing agent whose similar-sounding name causes frequent purchasing errors. Flake and solution presentations and their active-content conventions are grade dimensions handled inside this record.
Specification conventions and how to state yours+
Suppliers report active content, solution strength, particle presentation and impurity limits in different conventions, and the numbers are not interchangeable between them. State the convention your specification uses along with the property window you actually need, and comparison is made like for like against producer data for the grade offered.
What this page does not state+
This page asserts no purity, assay, active content, concentration, moisture, pH, density, dosage rate, performance figure, approval, registration, certification, origin, packing, minimum quantity, availability, lead time or price. Every commercially meaningful value is taken from producer documentation for the exact grade offered and confirmed in writing before order.
Sourcing and origin+
Allzone sources this material through producer channels and quotes it per enquiry. Origin, production route and shipping point are selected against your technical requirement, quantity, documentation need and destination, and are stated in the offer rather than fixed by this page. Freight, discharge point and packaging format move landed cost, so quotations are compared delivered to your plant.
Documentation supplied with an offer+
Technical data sheet, safety data sheet and certificate of analysis for the exact grade offered are requested from the producer and shared with the quotation. Handling, storage, incompatibility and personal-protection requirements are treated as SDS questions for the specific grade rather than figures published here. Where a declaration matters to your application — food contact, cosmetic, potable water, feed or regulatory — it is confirmed for that grade and intended use rather than assumed from this page.
How Allzone quotes this+
Send the process it goes into, the function you need it to perform, the property window your specification calls for in your own convention, the annual and per-shipment quantity, the packaging format your intake can receive, the documentation required per shipment and the delivery province or port. Several materials can be listed in one enquiry and reviewed together rather than split into separate requests.
Frequently asked questions
Does Allzone publish a price for sodium hydrosulfide?+
No. Price, minimum quantity, origin, packing and lead time depend on the grade, the volume and the destination, and are confirmed at quotation. Nothing on this page is an offer.
Which grades or presentations can be quoted?+
Flake presentation, Aqueous solution presentation, Handling and storage requirements are handled inside this single product record. Grades, concentrations and applications of one material are not published as separate pages; the grade offered and its published data are confirmed in the quotation.

Can sodium hydrosulfide be supplied into Ontario and the GTA?+
Delivery and logistics into Ontario, Quebec and the rest of Canada are reviewed per enquiry alongside the rest of the offer. We publish no stock, inventory or delivery-window guarantee on this page.
