Polymer & Plastics · Calculate & Specify
Compound Cost per Tonne Calculator
Filler only saves money once freight, loading and resin price are in the same number. Enter resin cost, filler masterbatch cost and the loading you run, and the tool returns the blended cost per kg and the saving per tonne against unfilled resin.

Use this when
- You are justifying a filler loading change to a customer or to finance.
- Two suppliers quote in different units and you need one comparable number.
- You want the break-even loading before quality risk outweighs the saving.
How the number is produced
- Blended cost = resin fraction × resin price + filler fraction × filler price.
- Saving per tonne = (resin price − blended cost) × 1 000.
- Cost is per kg of compound, so it compares directly with a resin quotation.
Materials for this job
- Mineral fillers, pigments & reinforcementCalcium carbonate, talc and TiO₂ in powder and masterbatch form.
- Masterbatch — white, colour, additive, desiccantThe grades you dose against the ratio this tool returns.
- Polymer & plastics raw materialsResins, fillers, masterbatch and additives in one catalogue.
Engineering aid only. Validate against your own instrumented trial, the polymer datasheet and the applicable ASTM / ISO method before locking a process window or a specification.
