Concrete Early-Strength Admixture

Early-strength admixtures are used to support strength development in the first hours and days, for example to help precast demoulding or cold-weather work. They are not automatically set accelerators: an early-strength additive targets strength gain, while a set accelerator targets setting time. Selection is reviewed against the cement and curing conditions.

Technical & procurement detail

What early-strength admixture is used for+

These additives act on cement hydration to support earlier strength gain, often used alongside water reducers in precast and winter concreting.

Selection considerations+

Cement and SCM type, curing temperature, steel reinforcement and chloride limits, and the target age for strength decide which chemistry is considered. Trials are required.

What to include in your enquiry+

Intended application and formulation or mix context; required grade or form; quantity per order and expected monthly or annual volume; preferred pack type; destination city/region or country; required timing.

Enquiry basis+

This page describes a product family for sourcing enquiries. Suitability, documentation, availability and commercial terms are reviewed for each enquiry and confirmed only in an applicable offer.

Frequently asked questions

What information is needed for a quotation?+
