Calcium Chloride — Deicer & Dust Control

Technical calcium chloride is used for winter deicing at lower temperatures than road salt and for dust control on unpaved surfaces, supplied as flake, pellet or liquid. Allzone sources deicing and dust-control calcium chloride for Canadian buyers on a quotation basis, with form, concentration and packaging confirmed per offer.

Technical & procurement detail

A separate technical grade+

Allzone already publishes a dairy-grade calcium chloride page for cheesemaking. This page is the technical deicing and dust-control grade: different documentation, different buyers, different handling. Each grade must be confirmed as meeting the requirements of its intended use, and neither is quoted against the other's applications.

Where it fits against road salt+

Calcium chloride works at lower temperatures than sodium chloride and is hygroscopic, which is why it is used for severe cold, for pre-wetting road salt and for dust binding. State your temperature range and surface so the quotation can address the right chemistry and form.

Handling and corrosion+

Calcium chloride is hygroscopic and aggressive toward mild steel. Dry forms need sealed storage; liquid supply needs compatible tanks and transfer equipment. Chloride impact on concrete, vegetation and waterways remains the buyer's responsibility to assess.

What to include in your enquiry+

State the application (deicing, dust control or process), preferred form (flake, pellet or liquid), concentration for liquids, quantity, packaging, delivery location and requested timing.

Documentation+

Supplier TDS/SDS and grade specifications are available subject to exact supplier and grade confirmation.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as your dairy-grade calcium chloride?+

No. The dairy page covers a food-processing grade for cheesemaking. This page is the technical deicing and dust-control grade; each grade must be confirmed as meeting the requirements of its intended use.

Which form should I choose — flake, pellet or liquid?+

Dry forms suit spreading and on-site solution make-up; liquid suits direct spray programs. State the application and equipment in your enquiry and the quotation will address the offered forms.

Can it be blended with road salt programs?+

Calcium chloride is commonly used for pre-wetting and blending where lower-temperature performance is needed. State your program in the enquiry so the quotation addresses compatible presentations.

What packaging is available?+

Bags, big-bags, IBC and bulk liquid are indicative options; packing and logistics are confirmed per offer.
