LDPE Masterbatch

What Is LDPE Masterbatch?

LDPE Masterbatch is a concentrate — pigment or functional additive dispersed in a Low-Density Polyethylene carrier resin — used to color or modify LDPE parts during processing.

Typical Processing Methods for LDPE

Blown Film, Cast Film, Extrusion Coating, Injection Molding.

Grade & Concentration Notes

  • Melt-flow matching. LDPE carriers are typically low-to-medium MFI to preserve film bubble stability. A high-MFI carrier in a blown-film line can collapse the bubble and cause thickness variation.

LDPE film dispersion issues surface as gels and fisheyes; verify carrier MFI and pigment loading before scale-up.

Typical Applications

Shrink film, lamination film, general-purpose packaging film, squeeze bottles, extrusion coating on paper/board, agricultural film.
