Why Pantone 300 C Is Not One Product

- Anthraquinone blues — often used for reddish or transparent blue shades in higher-performance polymers.
- Inorganic blues (ultramarine) — heat-stable and non-migrating, but typically lower chroma and limited to specific applications.
- Pigment blends — sometimes used to shift the undertone or improve cost/performance balance.
The carrier resin also changes the final appearance and performance. A Masterbatch matched to 300 C in PP will behave differently than the same target in PET or ABS. That is why the Pantone code alone is not enough to quote a grade.
