Shrinkage Reducing Admixture — Crack Control in Thin Sections
Allzone Trading supplies shrinkage reducing admixture materials to GFRC fabricators, precast panel producers, countertop manufacturers and admixture blenders across Canada. Thin, restrained, high-cement-content sections crack for a predictable reason, and reducing drying shrinkage attacks that cause directly instead of relying on reinforcement to hide it. Dosage response and compatibility are confirmed against supplier technical data and trial castings.

Technical & procurement detail
Cracks are a rejection issue, not a cosmetic one+
On architectural units, a hairline crack is a reject even when the piece is structurally sound. Shrinkage reducing admixtures lower the driving force behind those cracks by reducing capillary tension as the mix dries.
Rich thin mixes are the worst case+
GFRC and countertop mixes are high in cement, low in coarse aggregate and cast thin, which is close to the worst possible shrinkage geometry. That is why this admixture family appears in those products far more often than in structural concrete.
Interaction with strength and air+
Shrinkage reducers can slightly reduce early strength and can interfere with air entrainment. Producers running both in the same mix validate the combination rather than adding one to an established formulation blind.
Specification options+
Working properties are configurable options within this canonical product, not separate products. Depending on the family, that can include grade, viscosity, mix ratio, pot life and demould time, hardness, colour, particle size or fibre length, and pack format. No configuration is presented as stocked or approved until it is confirmed against the supplier's technical data for the exact material offered. Supplier grade names, factory codes and manufacturer brands are not published here.
What to include in your enquiry+
Tell us the product, section thickness, current mix design and cracking history, monthly volume and delivery location.
Frequently asked questions
Does an SRA replace fibre reinforcement?+
No. Fibre limits crack width after cracking; a shrinkage reducer lowers the shrinkage itself. Many producers use both.
What dosage is used?+
Dosage is developed per mix with the supplier's technical data and trial castings, and no dosage is presented here as a recommendation.
Are technical documents provided before ordering?+
Yes. The supplier technical data sheet and safety data sheet for the exact grade offered are provided with the quotation, and the working properties in those documents govern — not any general description on this page.
What quantities are quoted?+
Quantities are reviewed per enquiry, from trial quantities through to pallet and full container programmes for production users and distributors.
