Myo-Inositol — Supplement Grade

Myo-inositol is a cyclic polyol (a sugar alcohol structurally related to glucose) used as a functional nutrient ingredient in supplements, powdered drink bases and nutritional formulations. It is water soluble, mildly sweet, and handled in formulation as a bulk-compatible crystalline powder rather than as a micro-dosed active.

Myo-inositol is offered in different crystal and milled particle distributions. A coarse crystal blends and flows well but dissolves more slowly and can segregate from a fine-particle premix; a fine powder dissolves quickly but is more prone to caking and dusting. Send the particle distribution your process is validated on rather than accepting whatever crystal size is nearest.

As a polyol, the material picks up moisture from humid plant air, which causes lumping in hoppers and slows dissolution. Where the blending room is not humidity controlled, describe the ambient condition and dwell time so the appropriate physical form is requested.

State the physical form and particle distribution, the assay method and limits you release against, the residual solvent, heavy metal and microbiological limits your finished product requires, the intended finished-product category and market, and whether documentation must be issued per lot.

Keep the material sealed, dry, off the floor and away from heat, direct light and strong odours, and re-close partial containers immediately. Confirm the declared shelf life, the storage temperature the shelf life is based on and any re-test interval against the documentation issued for the exact lot supplied.
