Integral Water Repellent — Absorption and Efflorescence Control
Allzone Trading supplies integral water repellent admixture materials to cast stone producers, paver and block plants, GFRC fabricators and admixture blenders across Canada. Batched into the mix rather than applied to the surface, these materials reduce capillary absorption throughout the unit, which cuts efflorescence, staining and freeze-thaw damage. Chemistry, dosage and finish compatibility are confirmed against supplier technical data and trial units.

Technical & procurement detail
Efflorescence is a warranty problem+
White bloom on a dark pigmented paver is not a defect in the pigment, it is water moving salts to the surface. Reducing capillary absorption inside the unit addresses the transport mechanism, which is why producers of coloured units treat it as standard rather than optional.
Integral versus applied treatment+
A surface sealer protects only what it covers and wears with time; an integral repellent works through the full section and survives cutting, chipping and abrasion. Many producers use both, with different jobs assigned to each.
Effect on adhesion and finishing+
Water repellency inside the unit can interfere with subsequently applied coatings, stains, adhesives and grout. Any downstream finishing system is tested on treated units before the plant standardises the admixture.
Specification options+
Working properties are configurable options within this canonical product, not separate products. Depending on the family, that can include grade, viscosity, mix ratio, pot life and demould time, hardness, colour, particle size or fibre length, and pack format. No configuration is presented as stocked or approved until it is confirmed against the supplier's technical data for the exact material offered. Supplier grade names, factory codes and manufacturer brands are not published here.
What to include in your enquiry+
Tell us the unit type, whether pigmented, any coating or adhesive applied later, monthly volume and delivery location.
Frequently asked questions
Does this eliminate the need for a sealer?+
Not necessarily. The two work differently and are often combined; the decision depends on exposure and appearance requirements.
Will it affect the colour of pigmented units?+
It can subtly change tone and absorption behaviour, so colour approval is done on treated sample units.
Are technical documents provided before ordering?+
Yes. The supplier technical data sheet and safety data sheet for the exact grade offered are provided with the quotation, and the working properties in those documents govern — not any general description on this page.
What quantities are quoted?+
Quantities are reviewed per enquiry, from trial quantities through to pallet and full container programmes for production users and distributors.
