Concrete Stain — Reactive and Water-Based Surface Colour
Allzone Trading supplies concrete stain materials to decorative concrete contractors, precast finishers, restoration specialists and construction chemical blenders across Canada. Stains colour concrete that has already been cast, which makes them the practical route to variegated stone-like colour that could not have been produced in the mix. Chemistry type, colour behaviour and neutralisation requirements are confirmed against supplier technical data at quotation.

Technical & procurement detail
Reactive stains cannot be fully predicted+
Acid stains colour by reacting with the calcium chemistry of the slab itself, so the same product gives different results on different concrete. That variability is the design intent for stone-like finishes and a serious risk for anyone expecting a uniform colour.
Water-based stains trade depth for control+
Waterborne pigmented stains give a wide colour range, repeatable results and low odour, but they sit more on the surface and read flatter than a reactive stain. Contractors choose between the two according to whether the client bought variation or uniformity.
Neutralisation and sealing complete the job+
Reactive stains leave acidic residue that must be neutralised and rinsed, or the subsequent sealer will fail. Stained work is always finished with a protective sealer, since the colour layer alone has no wear resistance.
Specification options+
Working properties are configurable options within this canonical product, not separate products. Depending on the family, that can include grade, viscosity, mix ratio, pot life and demould time, hardness, colour, particle size or fibre length, and pack format. No configuration is presented as stocked or approved until it is confirmed against the supplier's technical data for the exact material offered. Supplier grade names, factory codes and manufacturer brands are not published here.
What to include in your enquiry+
Tell us the substrate and its age, whether variegated or uniform colour is required, area or annual volume and delivery location.
Frequently asked questions
Can stain colour be matched exactly?+
Reactive stains vary with the substrate, so sample areas on the actual concrete are the only reliable approval method. Water-based stains are more repeatable.
Does stained concrete need sealing?+
Yes. The stain adds colour, not protection, so a sealer is part of the system rather than an option.
Are technical documents provided before ordering?+
Yes. The supplier technical data sheet and safety data sheet for the exact grade offered are provided with the quotation, and the working properties in those documents govern — not any general description on this page.
What quantities are quoted?+
Quantities are reviewed per enquiry, from trial quantities through to pallet and full container programmes for production users and distributors.
