PP Masterbatch
What Is PP Masterbatch?
PP Masterbatch is a concentrate — pigment or functional additive dispersed in a Polypropylene carrier resin — used to color or modify PP parts during processing.
Typical Processing Methods for PP
Injection Molding, Extrusion, Film (BOPP/CPP), Raffia, Blow Molding, Non-woven Fiber.
Grade & Concentration Notes
- Melt-flow matching. Match Masterbatch carrier MFI within roughly one order of magnitude of your host PP grade to avoid streaking, gel formation, or dispersion loss.
Homopolymer vs copolymer PP behave differently under low-temperature impact; declare which grade you run on the RFQ.
Typical Applications
Rigid packaging, caps and closures, PP crates and pallets, raffia bags (FIBC/woven sacks), non-woven hygiene fabrics, automotive interiors, appliance housings.
