HDPE Masterbatch
What Is HDPE Masterbatch?
HDPE Masterbatch is a concentrate — pigment or functional additive dispersed in a High-Density Polyethylene carrier resin — used to color or modify HDPE parts during processing.
Typical Processing Methods for HDPE
Blow Molding, Injection Molding, Extrusion (pipe, sheet), Blown Film.
Grade & Concentration Notes
- Melt-flow matching. HDPE Masterbatch carriers span narrow MFI windows for bottles, wide-MFI grades for injection, and pipe-grade PE100 systems. Match the MFI and the application class, not just the family.
For PE100 pipe applications, dispersion and long-term hydrostatic strength are gated by pigment index and carrier compatibility, not shade alone.
Typical Applications
HDPE bottles and jerry cans, PE100/PE80 pipe systems, industrial drums, crates, geomembranes, cable jacketing.
